Beaded bracelet, 'Sacred Flower'

Bright red jicur� or peyote flowers capture Higinio Hern�ndez Carrillo's imagination as he crafts the beaded bracelet by hand. According to Huichol customs and traditions, jicur� is a sacred flower, for it allows them to communicate with their gods. They consume the flower with fair warning: too much of it is detrimental to their health and would anger the gods.
